Laura Fergusson Trust

Specialised rehabilitation services, both residential and community based. We have a particular focus on rehabilitation for those who have sustained neurological trauma – be it caused by congenital, accident or medical condition. We also provide rehabilitation services to individuals with other conditions, and have a comprehensive team of specialists including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Therapists, Social Workers, Nurses, Rehabilitation Coaches, Supported Living Coaches, Medical Specialists, Clinical Psychologists, Pain Specialists and more.

Contracts with the Ministry of Health, Accident Compensation Corporation and Ministry of Social Development as well as a number of private contracts.

The Laura Fergusson Rehabilitation team is comprised of a group of highly experienced, fully qualified Physiotherapists. 

Our therapists each have specialty skills and we offer assessment and treatment for:
  • Musculoskeletal conditions – sprains, strains and fractures. Reduced function through limited joint range, muscle length and strength, poor posture, balance, coordination, mobility and fitness
  • Post operative orthopaedic care – following surgery to joints, muscles tendons or ligaments.
  • Neurological conditions including Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis and Muscular Dystrophy
  • Post-acute conditions requiring physical mobilisation, stretching, strengthening, balance, coordination and fitness training
  • Persistent Pain conditions – following injury or associated with overuse syndromes
  • Spinal and postural problems

Laura Fergusson’s hydrotherapy pool is a unique facility that enables exercise in a temperature controlled environment. The gymnasium has a full range of cardio machines, weights and exercise equipment that cater to users with all levels of ability and injury.
